Quinceanera at La Mariposa Resort | Aurelise’s Alice in Wonderland-Themed Celebration in Tucson, AZ


Quinceaneras come in every color, style, and format imaginable.


When it comes to the religious part, some catholic families include a full mass, while others prefer a blessing ceremony officiated by a deacon at the venue where the quinceanera reception will be held, considering that it's not considered a sacrament.


For Christian families, a service at their church officiated by their pastor is an important part of their day, and allows for a dedicated time to pray and give thanks to God in a more private setting. There are also families that may not follow a specific religious ritual, but more of a custom designed gratitude ceremony that feels perfectly their own, honoring those who have made the fifteen year journey a meaningful story full of memories and lessons to be grateful for.


There's one thing that these families have in common: They all wanted to keep the tradition alive and celebrate a Quinceañera for their daughter.


Aurelise's went for the personalized gratitude ceremony and they wanted something different; —somewhere peaceful but stunning—and they found it at La Mariposa Resort. This Quinceanera at La Mariposa Resort was nothing short of whimsical, perfectly aligned with Aurelise’s Alice in Wonderland-themed vision.


The setting felt like a storybook: gorgeous mountain views, lush green lawns, a calming pond, and a beautiful gazebo, where the blessing formal ceremony took place.


Inside the venue, straight from a fairy tale, a totally out-of-a-dream custom Alice in Wonderland themed decor, transformed the venue into a magic place. After Aurelise's announced grand entrance with sparklers and a standing ovation from her guests, she walked towards her dad and grabbed him by his arm and proudly walked around the dance floor, where a table with candles were waiting. Fairy lights glowed while Aurelise lit fifteen candles, each flame honoring a grandparent, a tio, padrino or friend who shaped her journey, and it was Aurelise who personally invited each person to stand in front of her while she dedicated a short speech to express what she recognized as the most important thing she had learned from each of them. Then a quick, sincere family toast wrapped the ceremony in pure gratitude.


Aurelise's quinceanera party was a feel-good celebration of gratitude, connection and living those fifteen years to the fullest with those that matter the most to us.
